Bossard started her commercial fishing career in 1999, after she began working on the ship F/V Sunset. The 65' schooner that was converted into the role of a salmon tender is owned by Murat Aritan. The fisherman has been in commercial fisherman since 1993. Bossard got married to Aritan in 1999 and the two have joined to defend their businesses. They believe in conservative, sustainable management of renewable seafood resources. In 2007, the mother of two young children Bella age three as well as Andre 1 Bossard before returning to her home in Philadelphia, opened a direct wholesale distribution of seafood known as Otolith.
